National Safety Council’s Advanced Safety Certificate program is a nationally recognized safety curriculum based on proven best practices. The ASC program builds upon knowledge of compliance requirements to further your safety education. It also sharpens leadership skills to drive fundamental safety change throughout your organization.

For individuals on a safety career path, this program provides a starting point, a clear roadmap and best-in-class educational experiences to meet many industry-leading certification requirements.

ASC Curriculum
The ASC Curriculum provides an in-depth look at the issues safety practitioners face every day and offers proven approaches and solutions. The core required course (POSH) provides a solid foundation of knowledge to meet all safety challenges, and the electives allow for a more in-depth review of specific safety topics. Through 12 training days and 7.8 CEUs, this popular safety certificate program will help you learn how to direct your organization's comprehensive safety plan with greater efficiency and success.

How to Earn the Advanced Safety Certificate

*All course requirements must be completed in a five-year period.

Certificate Assistance Program
Need financial assistance to pursue your Advanced Safety Certificate? NSC Certificate Assistance Program provides financial assistance to participate in ASC training.

A part of the NSC Scholarship Program, Certificate Assistance helps support individuals on a safety career path obtain their NSC Advanced Safety Certificate. Recipients receive travel and lodging to either the NSC-Itasca or NSC-Atlanta locations to participate in ASC training. Applications are reviewed and awarded quarterly.

Location: These courses will be held at the Minnesota Safety Council Resource Center located at 474 Concordia Avenue in St. Paul. Take the Dale Street exit from I-94. Proceed east on south frontage road (Concordia Avenue) past the American Lung Association. Turn right into our lower level parking lot.

Lodging: Holiday Inn St. Paul Downtown, 175 West 7th Street in St. Paul. Reservations can be made directly by calling 651.225.1515 or booking online, single or double occupancy. Please make reservations directly with the hotel and be sure to identify yourself as a participant in a Minnesota Safety Council training course to receive the preferred rate.

Cancellation Policy: Pre-registration and payment are required. Hopefully you won't need to cancel, but if you do, please do so at least three business days prior to the course for a full refund. No refunds will be made after three business days prior to the course. This policy will be enforced, so please plan ahead if you need to cancel your attendance.
