Are machinery safety guards/features kept in place?

Do all barns, farm shops, chemical storage areas, livestock pens, etc. have latches that can be locked or secured so that children cannot enter?

Are children supervised around tractors and machinery and prevented from operating them?

Are children prevented from being passengers on tractors?

Is equipment turned off, hydraulics lowered and keys removed before leaving equipment unattended?

Are children supervised around livestock?

Is proper gear worn for horseback riding: shoes or boots that cover the ankle and have a heel; helmet?

Are children who are physically able to be involved in farm work assigned age-appropriate tasks and continually trained to perform them?

Have children been instructed to be alert to the possibility of being kicked when leading, grooming or feeding horses?

Are children kept away from manure pits?

Have children been told to call 911 if they see someone fall into a manure pit?

Do children and adults regularly wear sunscreen with a skin protection factor (SPF) of at least 15?
