OSHA #502 - Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers

This course is designed for personnel in the private sector who have completed OSHA 500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry and who are active trainers in the outreach program. It provides an update on such topics as construction standards, policies, and regulations. Outreach trainers are required to attend this course at least once every four years to maintain their trainer status.

Length: Three days

This course is designed for personnel in the private sector who have completed OSHA 500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry and who are active trainers in the outreach program. It provides an update on such topics as OSHA construction standards, policies, and regulations. Outreach trainers are required to attend Course 502 at least once every four years to maintain their trainer status. This is a mandatory course for all active OSHA 500 Instructors.

Prerequisites: Current OSHA construction outreach trainer card.

Who should attend:
Construction and utility foremen, supervisors, workers, safety directors and others responsible for safety on individual job sites.

Objective:
Upon completing this course you will be able to:
  • Teach the OSHA 10 hr and 30 hr as an updated OSHA 500 instructor
  • Present safety and health training using the latest information from OSHA
  • Know and understand the "New OSHA"
  • Define and understand new methods of identifying and abating hazards
Continuing Education Units: 1.7 CEUs.

Location:
This course will be held at the Minnesota Safety Council Resource Center located at 474 Concordia Avenue in St. Paul. Take the Dale Street exit from I-94. Proceed east on south frontage road (Concordia Avenue) past the American Lung Association. Turn right into our lower level parking lot.

Bill is a highly skilled consultant, instructor and presenter in a wide variety of areas of occupational safety and OSHA compliance with nearly 50 years of experience in construction, general industry and commercial vehicle safety. He is an authorized trainer from the OSHA Training Institute and National Safety Education Center and an expert trainer in forklifts, aerial lifts, heavy machinery and commercial motor vehicles.
