Math Review Course for Certification Exams
|This one-day course is designed to help participants review basic math skills prior to sitting for a certification examination. It begins with a review of measuring systems, English and metric, proceeds through conversions, and ends with algebra and trigonometry. Students should bring a scientific calculator (TI30XIIS). Specific functions include logarithms, trigonometry functions, scientific format, and standard deviation.|

This course will be held at the Minnesota Safety Council Resource Center located at 474 Concordia Avenue in St. Paul. Take the Dale Street exit from I-94. Proceed east on south frontage road (Concordia Avenue) past the American Lung Association. Turn right into our lower level parking lot.

Please make reservations directly with the hotel and be sure to identify yourself as a participant in a Minnesota Safety Council training course to receive the preferred rate.
Pre-registration and payment are required. Hopefully you won't need to cancel, but if you do, please do so at least five business days prior to the course for a full refund. No refunds will be made after three business days prior to the course. This policy will be enforced, so please plan ahead if you need to cancel your attendance.

Michael Weigand, CSP
Michael A. Weigand is Vice President of Langlois, Weigand & Associates, Inc. Before entering the consulting field full-time, he served as an instructor at Louisiana State University from 1980 until 1989. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans, LA, a Masters Degree in Safety Management from the University of Arizona, and a Doctor of Education in Safety Education from Texas A&M University. He has over 20 years of experience in the safety and health career field and has been a CSP since 1979. Mr. Weigand has taught courses in occupational safety, safety management, industrial hygiene, fire science and safety law at LSU. He has conducted professional seminars on such topics as safety and health audits, safety management, and safety training. He has served as a management consultant and expert witness.
