Workplace Violence Prevention

Violent acts accounted for six percent of workplace deaths in Minnesota from 1997-2001 (latest data available). For workers who are women, assaults were the second leading cause of death. Most violence is verbal. The abusive person seeks control through verbal intimidation. Prevention, training, and practice are essential to prevent psychological or physical injury from any form of violence.
