SafetyNet Members-only Community: "Cheat Sheet"

Get Started (It's Easy!)
  1. Go to the Members Only section of our website: www.minnesotasafetycouncil.org/mo
  2. In the Members' Log-in box, enter your e-mail address and member ID number and click "Log in." (Forgot your ID number? - go to www.minnesotasafetycouncil.org/mo and enter your e-mail address into the "Forgot Your Password?" box, submit and you will receive an e-mail momentarily containing your password/member ID). Select "Remember Me" if you want the site to remember your log-in information. NOTE: If you click the “Logout” link in the welcome box at the top right of any SafetyNet page, you will have to re-enter your user name and password on your next visit.
  3. Click the SafetyNet logo on the Members Only homepage
  4. Review and sign off on the Code of Conduct (first time only) and you're in!
Get Involved
  1. Complete your profile:
    • See My Profile in the orange navigation bar and click the down arrow, then "Profile" in the drop-down menu.
    • To edit a profile item click on the "Add" button. A form will display. Make your selections or changes and click "Save."
    NOTE: To change your contact information, e-mail us at msc@minnesotasafetcouncil.org. That information is located in our member database, so we will make changes for you. You can also send suggestions for industry categories or certifications you think we should add.

  2. Respond/post a message
    • To respond to a post: Click Reply to Discussion at right side of posting> type your message > Send or reply through the e-mail notification (see "Reply All Online" or "Reply All E-mail" links near top right of posting. The "Reply to Sender" link at the bottom of the posting is for personal responses.
      To create a post:
    • Online, click All Members > Post a Message or My Communities > Post a Message. The "Post a Message" screen will display.
    • If selecting from "My Communities," click down arrow to the right of "Select Discussion" field to select discussion from menu.
    • Enter a message title in the "Subject" field.
    • Type your message in the larger message box and click "Send."
    • Attachments will be uploaded to the community's library. To attach a file: Click Attach > Choose (select file) > Upload > Next (type in a title and brief description) > Finish or Next (select document type add keywords that will make the attachment more easily searchable. > Finish > Send
    • From e-mail: Click "Post New Message Online" or "Post New Message via E-mail" links at top of e-mail.

  3. Comment on a blog
    All Members > View Blog or on the homepage, scroll down to "Recent Blogs" on the left side of the page and click on the blog title or "More." To leave comments, click on the blog's title to view the complete posting, and then click the "Add" button above the comment field.
