Transporting Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods

U.S. Department of Transportation, International Air Transport Association and International Civil Aviation Organization regulations require initial and recurrent training for all persons involved in handling, documenting or transporting hazardous materials. This course assists in complying with 49 CFR 172.704. You will receive both the 49 CFR Parts 100-185 and IATA Dangerous Goods manuals.

Who should attend: If you are a shipper, every manager, supervisor and employee involved in shipping should attend, including those with the following job functions: identifying, documenting, handling, packaging, marking, labeling, receiving and shipping hazardous materials.
If you are a transporter, all managerial, supervisory and other employees involved in hazardous materials transportation should attend, including: package and cargo handlers, drivers, pilots and customer service personnel.

Length: Two Days

Continuing Education Units: Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the Minnesota Safety Council and ABIH Certification Maintenance Points are available upon request.

Location: This course will be held at the Minnesota Safety Council Resource Center located at 474 Concordia Avenue in St. Paul. Take the Dale Street exit from I-94. Proceed east on south frontage road (Concordia Avenue) past the American Lung Association. Turn right into our lower level parking lot.

Cancellation Policy: Pre-registration and payment are required. Hopefully you won't need to cancel, but if you do, please do so at least three business days prior to the course for a full refund. No refunds will be made after three business days prior to the course. This policy will be enforced, so please plan ahead if you need to cancel your attendance.
