Scaffolding: Fundamentals for the Competent Person
Before any worker is permitted to work from scaffolding, OSHA requires that employers ensure scaffold-systems are inspected and evaluated by a competent person. Not only must the competent person understand the design, capacity and limitations of the system being used, but also ensure that the assembly and use are in accordance with 29 CFR 1926 Subpart L (which applies to both General Industry and Construction).
