Respiratory Protection: Fundamentals and Fit-Testing
Many work environments and activities necessitate the use of respiratory protection to protect workers from health hazards. Under these circumstances, OSHA requires employers to properly implement a respiratory protection program, including the selection of proper respirators, medical evaluations, fit-testing and training. This workshop is designed to provide attendees with the knowledge to properly develop a program.
This workshop is designed to provide attendees with the knowledge to properly develop a program, and includes:
- Understanding the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134)
- Understanding the types and performance of various types of respirators
- Understanding medical evaluations
- Understanding fit-testing and seal-checks, including hands-on practical experience in conducting qualitative fit testing
- Understanding proper use, maintenance, storage, and disposal requirements
- Understanding worker training requirements
