Laser Safety Officer Training

This program will review and discuss Laser Safety Training program topics as defined in the ANSI Z136.1-2014 (current) standard for Safe Use of Lasers per Appendix E Guide for Organization and Implementation of Employee Laser Safety Training Programs.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has developed a series of standards for the Safe Use of Lasers (ANSI Z136). In workplace environments where Class 3B and/or Class 4 lasers are present, the ANSI standards require management to designate a laser safety officer (LSO), implement control measures and engineering controls, and train authorized personnel (individuals approved by management to operate, maintain, service, or install laser equipment).
