HAZWOPER Refresher Training, 8-hour

Is it time for your annual refresher training? The OSHA HAZWOPER standard requires responders to take annual refresher training “of sufficient content and duration” to maintain their competencies. This one-day workshop fulfills that requirement for emergency responders in OSHA 1910.120(q)(8)(i). Recommended for operations level responders, hazardous materials technicians, specialists and incident commanders. A certificate will be awarded at the end of this workshop.

Who should attend? Employees and employers covered by the 1910.120 (HAZWOPER) standard that are required to take the initial HAZWOPER training which consists of either a 24-hour or 40-hour course. This eight-hour workshop fills the annual training requirement for responders to chemical emergencies in 1910.120(q).

Recommended for operations level responders, hazardous materials technicians, specialists and incident commanders.

Topics include: implementation of emergency response plans and incident command systems, basic chemical and toxicological terminology and behavior, classification and identification of unknown materials, hazard and risk assessment techniques, uses of field survey instruments and equipment, selection and use of specialized chemical personal protective equipment, response tactics, decontamination of personnel and equipment.

Location: This course will be held at the Minnesota Safety Council Resource Center located at 474 Concordia Avenue in St. Paul. Take the Dale Street exit from I-94. Proceed east on south frontage road (Concordia Avenue) past the American Lung Association. Turn right into our lower level parking lot.

Cancellation Policy: Pre-registration and payment are required. Hopefully you won't need to cancel, but if you do, please do so at least three business days prior to the course for a full refund. No refunds will be made after three business days prior to the course. This policy will be enforced, so please plan ahead if you need to cancel your attendance.
