Commercial Vehicle Roadside Inspection

Roadside inspections are the primary tool used by the FMCSA — the DOT administration that regulates commercial vehicles — to examine drivers, vehicles, and carriers to ensure they operate safely on the roadway.

The results of roadside inspections can impact your Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) score and your bottom line with costly repairs and fines. This course prepares commercial motor vehicle operators for what to expect during a Level 1 roadside inspection in Minnesota.

Topics covered:
  • The essentials of the North American Standard Level 1 roadside inspection procedures
  • What constitutes Out-Of-Service (OOS) violations according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR)
  • Provides the information CMV drivers need to navigate and pass roadside inspections, so they can avoid violations, reduce the chance of a carrier audit, and improve their CSA/DSMS scores

Length: 3 hours
