Coaching the Transit Bus Driver

Transit authorities worked with the National Safety Council to create this five-hour training program that addresses the specific needs of operators. Experienced drivers teach your operators to perform a simple pre-shift vehicle check. A refresher on passenger courtesy benefits public transit systems and shuttle/courtesy fleets. Each participant will receive a certificate of course completion.

Course Content
  • Vehicle inspection
  • Following distance and reaction time
  • Blind spots and tailgaters
  • Bus stop maneuvers and courtesy stops
  • Right and left turn hazards
  • Railroad crossings
  • Backing
  • Emergency stops
  • And more
Fee: $550 (1-10 students) plus $25 for each additional student, and any travel expenses.
