Safe Kids Minnesota, coordinated by the Minnesota Safety Council, was one of a select few Safe Kids coalitions in the U.S. invited to participate in the Marine Corps Marathon, October 25 in Washington, D.C. Captain Kevin Torgerson of Rochester, an experienced marathoner and a member of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Department, ran to raise awareness and funds for the life-saving programs of Safe Kids Minnesota, its six chapters around the state and Safe Kids USA. Donations will be accepted through November 8, and can be made online at http://sk.convio.net/goto/safekidsmn or by mail.
