Drive Safely Work Week

The Drive Safely Work Week (DSWW) campaign is an annual event designed to protect your employees and your business, and send a message that safe driving is a value in your organization.

Whether your employees drive as a part of their job or just to commute to and from work, their time on the road is the most dangerous part of their day. Help them focus on safe driving during national Drive Safely Work Week, October 2-6, 2013.

What You Can Do

• Download the free 2012 DSWW tool kit which includes messaging ideas, interactive quizzes and tools and graphics http://www.trafficsafety.org/drivesafelyworkweek/
• October 2012 Safety NETS (You will need the FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the newsletter.)
• Incorporate the topic areas and safety tips into your safety program each day of Drive Safely Work Week - or use each topic area as a monthly or weekly focus.
• Order additional FREE distracted driving resources from the Minnesota Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) (posters, payroll stuffers, brochures etc.) to use with your daily activities. Order these materials online at www.minnesotasafetycouncil.org/NETS/NETSOnlineOrderForm.cfm.
• Utilize comprehensive distracted driving resources for the workplace including template policies, power point presentations, fact sheets, sample voice messages and more on our website.
• Utilize resources on impaired driving, occupant protection and distracted driving to reinforce traffic safety messages.
• Distribute a texting flyer (electronically or in print) from the Safety NETS newsletter.
• Arrange or conduct a brown bag lunch seminar at your location. Sample safety talk available at www.minnesotasafetycouncil.org/nets/FactSheets.cfm or contact Lisa Kons at: lisa.kons@minnesotasafetycouncil.org.
• Display materials in central, high-traffic locations such as entrances, lobbies or cafeterias.
• Arrange for marquees or electronic sign boards at your local businesses or schools to carry distracted driving messages.
