CONSTRUCTION TRAINING
- January 6, March 24: Fall Protection, Competent Person. Designed for construction personnel who will be responsible for supervision on job sites. Hands-on field exercise will be included.
- January 11-12 (Mankato), January 25-26 (Moorhead), February 9-10 (St. Paul), February 16-17 (Bemidji): 10-Hour
Construction Safety Course. OSHA Training Institute will issue course completion cards to each student. Covers basic
safety standards regulating the construction industry. For more information or to register, contact Angie Kupczak at 800-444-9150 or kupczak@mnsafetycouncil.org.
- January 13, March 7: Scaffolding, Competent Person. This full-day course covers user and competent person scaffolding training. A hands-on field exercise will be included.
- January 18-21: OSHA 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry. Pre-requisite for the "OSHA 500 Basic Instructor Course."
- January 24-27: OSHA 500 Basic Instructor Course in Occupational Standards for the Construction Industry (30 Hours). Allows you to conduct both a 10- and 30-hour construction safety and health course and to issue OSHA completion cards.
- February 3, April 8: Scaffold Awareness. NEW 3-hour workshop teaches hazard recognition and includes a "hands-on" erection of a six foot standard tower (fully planked) with ladder access, guardrail and toeboard.
- February 15: About Mold: Building Code Changes. NEW course provides latest thinking from code officials and building scientists on proper building techniques to make buildings more durable and mold free.
- February 16-18: OSHA 502 Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers. Required training every four years for active trainers in the construction outreach program of the OSHA Training Institute.
- February 23: Trenching and Excavating. This course assists in complying with OSHA Standard 1926.650-652.
- March 15-18: OSHA 309A Electrical Standards
- March 21-22, June 14-15. Electrical Safe Work Practices Training
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE TRAINING
- January 10, March 14: OSHA Recordkeeping (Log 300 and 301 Training)
- January 18-21, March 1-4: NEW
30-Hour General Industry Outreach Training Program (also known as OSHA 511). Pre-requisite for the OSHA Course 501 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry.
- February 4: Bloodborne Pathogen Standard Compliance Workshop, Non-Health Care. This workshop explains the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen standard and how it applies to non-health care businesses. Assists in complying with OSHA standard 1910.1030.
- February 14, June 13: AWAIR (A Workplace Accident and Injury Reduction) Workshop
- February 17, April 15, June 2: Safety Committees. Do you have more than 25 employees? If so, OSHA requires you to establish a joint labor-management safety committee. Learn how to get people involved and to motivate the committee and employees.

- February 22: Respirator Fit Testing, Hands-on
- February 22 (Duluth): Electrical Safety/Lockout/Tagout. For more information or to register, contact Angie Kupczak at 800-444-9150 or kupczak@mnsafetycouncil.org.
- February 24-25: 10-Hour General Industry Safety and Health Training: This 10-hour course covers specific OSHA standards and other OSHA compliance regulations. OSHA Training Institute will issue course completion cards to each student.
- February 28: Accident/ Incident Investigation and Job Hazard Analysis
- February 28: Fork Truck Instructor Development Training
- March 15-18: OSHA 309A: Electrical Standards. This course provides an in-depth study of OSHA's electrical standards and the hazards associated with electrical installations and equipment. Hands-on training is provided. Taught by electrical safety guru, Art Hawes. Course completion cards issued by the OSHA Training Institute.
- March 21-22, June 14-15: Electrical Safe Work Practices Training. OSHA, NFPA 70E, and the National Electrical Code require training on electrical safe work practices. Taught by electrical safety guru, Art Hawes.
SUPERVISOR TRAINING
CERTIFICATE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Basic Safety Certificate Series: For anyone with full- or part-time safety and health responsibilities, these courses will cover all the basics of running an effective workplace safety and health program. Completion of all three courses results in the Minnesota Safety Council and Minnesota OSHA Basic Workplace Safety Certificate. Courses may be taken individually.
