Learn how to motivate employees and learn practical techniques for positively affecting safe behavior.
- November 19: Protecting Health Care Workers: A Process Safety Approach
Approved for 3.5 clock hours by the Minnesota Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.
- November 29: OSHA Training Requirements and Navigating the OSHA Website.
If you are even remotely involved in safety, you MUST become familiar with OSHA's web page.
Learn the various sections of the OSHA Public Home Page plus how to search,
access and download information.
- December 3:
How to
Manage an OSHA Inspection. Learn from a Minnesota OSHA consultant how to prepare in advance
for a possible OSHA inspection; how to successfully resolve issues identified by an inspector, how
the appeal process works, what the agency looks for before issuing a citation; how the negotiation process works; and what the future looks like from an enforcement standpoint.
- December 10: Pre-Construction Planning
Pre-Construction planning is key to injury prevention and managing final project costs.
CERTIFICATE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Basic Safety Certificate Series: For anyone with full- or part-time safety and health responsibilities, these courses
will cover all the basics of running an effective workplace safety and health program. Completion of all
three courses
results in the Minnesota Safety Council and Minnesota OSHA Basic Workplace Safety Certificate. Courses may be taken individually.

Minnesota OSHA Update
October 20, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (registration at 9:30 a.m.); Rochester, Location:
Rochester City Hall, Cost: $35 per person.
This two-hour session will cover changes to standards and procedures within MN OSHA for
the past year, as well as an update on MN OSHA's strategic plan. The inspection process
will also be discussed. In addition, participants will have a chance to ask questions of MN OSHA personnel.
