September 13-15: Audiometric Technician Training This hands-on, interactive 2 l/2 day program trains and certifies audiometrists and technicians. This course will assist you in complying with OSHA Standard 1910.95.

October 11: Fire Protection Compliance Training
October 13-14: 10-Hour General Industry Safety and Health Training
October 14-15: Electrical Safe Work Practices Training This two-day course meets requirements of OSHA, NFPA, 70E and the National Electric Code. It is taught by Art Hawes, the individual who developed the original 5 day 309A Electrical Standards course for the OSHA Training Institute. Art is known as the guru of electrical safety. He's the Man! Come learn from the best!
October 26: Right-to-Know Workshop

September 28: 2004 Northern Area Safety & Health Network (NOSD) Conference, Duluth, Spirit Mountain. Our annual one-day conference sponsored by the Minnesota Safety Council's Northern Area Safety & Health Network, includes updated sessions on OSHA, ergonomics, mobile lifts, chain saw safety, drug and alcohol recognition, bio-terrorism/homeland security, employee involvement in your safety committee and more!
October 1: MNSTAR Bootcamp
October 7: Workers' Compensation-Controlling Costs How can business control rising premiums and claim costs? Learn practical strategies PLUS hear a success story from a small manufacturing company.
October 18-21: Safety Training Methods This four-day course covers adult teaching techniques, training course development, effective use of teaching aids, basics of speaking and more! Part of the Advanced Safety Certificate Series.

Ergonomics Training
Managing Ergonomics in the Workplace Co-sponsored by the Minnesota Safety Council and the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. Learn the recent history of ergonomics safety laws; understand the impact of high-cost injuries on the state workers' compensation system and economy; and provide steps, strategies and actions for the prevention, control, elimination and costs associated with injuries.

October 4: Ergonomics—Evaluate Your Office Workstation This half-day session covers practical, effective and inexpensive ergonomic strategies to address musculoskeletal injury prevention for office workers in the workplace.
October 25: Ergonomics—Evaluate Your Industrial Workstation Learn how employee technique, workplace design and tool design affect the physiology and musculoskeletal system of workers. Develop effective and inexpensive solutions to control musculoskeletal injuries in the industrial setting.

Certificate Training Opportunities
Basic Safety Certificate Series: For anyone with full- or part-time safety and health responsibilities, these courses will cover all the basics of running an effective workplace safety and health program. Completion of all three courses results in the Minnesota Safety Council and Minnesota OSHA Basic Workplace Safety Certificate. Courses may be taken individually.

September 2: Introduction to Loss Control

OSHA 501 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (30 contact hours), September 14-17 (Fargo); October 26-29 (St. Paul)
Presents detailed information on OSHA standards. Includes an introduction to OSHA's General Industry Standards and an overview of the more frequently referenced standards. Allows you to conduct both a 10- and 30-hour voluntary compliance course and issue course completion cards to participants.

Principles of Occupational Safety and Health, September 20-23
Do you have full or part time employee safety and health responsibilities within your organization? If so, this extensive four-day course is for you! Part of the Advanced Safety Certificate Series.
