The holidays are here and before you know it, we’ll be into January 2009! Plan ahead and save time and travel costs by attending OSHA Ed Center Training here at home:
Raise Employee Awareness During DWI Enforcement Campaign More than a half-million Minnesotans have a DWI on record, a tally that will unfortunately increase during a December-long, statewide DWI enforcement campaign. Employers can help prevent this increase by educating employees about the risks of drinking and driving (December is one of the deadliest months of the year for impaired driving in Minnesota.) For employee handouts (fact sheets, brochures, payroll stuffers) and other resources, many now in Spanish, see the Minnesota Network of Employers for Traffic Safety Web site at http://www.minnesotasafetycouncil.org/nets/index.htm and select "Safety Info," "Resources" and "Employer's Tools." Extra DWI enforcement efforts will continue throughout 2009 in the state’s 13 deadliest counties for impaired driving (Anoka, Blue Earth, Crow Wing, Dakota, Hennepin, Itasca, Ramsey, Rice, St. Louis, Sherburne, Stearns, Washington and Wright). Still Time to Register for Transporting Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods If it’s time for you to refresh your skills or repeat the training required to update your credentials, there’s still space available in the last session for the year, December 15-16, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This course meets DOT initial and recurrent training requirements, provides the latest regulatory trends and information (including security issues) and includes IATA Dangerous Goods and title 49 CFR parts 100-185 regulation book.
