Effective Safety Committees, November 24, 2003, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Will give you ideas on how to form a safety committee, as well as how to set and meet goals. Learn how to get people involved and motivated. Tuition: Member $195/165; $245 Nonmember Fork Truck Instructor Development Training, December 15, 2003, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Meets OSHA's General Industry Standard 1910.178 (1) requirements. Tuition: $195/165 Members; $245 Nonmember 10-Hour Construction Safety Course, December 1–2, 2003, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (day 1) 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (day 2) This 10-hour course from the OSHA Training Institute is designed for private sector personnel who are interested in developing safety and health programs in the construction industry. OSHA Training Institute will issue course completion cards to each student. Tuition: Member $375; $415 Nonmember Audiometric Technician Training/Refresher, Hands-on, December 3–5, 2003 Full Course December 4, 2003 Refresher Course, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (first two days) 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (last day) This 2½ day program trains and certifies audiometrists and technicians. The refresher course is for those previously certified. Tuition: Member $455 full course; $475 Nonmember Tuition: Member $215 refresher course; $265 Nonmember Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene, January 5–9, 2004, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (first four days) 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (last day) This course is for you if you are a safety, health and/or environmental professional or manager with industrial hygiene responsibilities but limited training or experience in this area. Part of the Advanced Safety Certificate. Tuition: $1275 Member; $1400 Nonmember Introduction to Occupational Safety, November 18, 2003, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Learn the basics of safety management, hazard identification, ergonomics, accident records and emergency preparedness. Part of the Basic Workplace Safety Certificate. Tuition: $195/165 Member; $245 Nonmember Introduction to Occupational Health, November 19, 2003, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Review basic occupational health and industrial hygiene principles and become familiar with the concepts of health hazard recognition. Part of the Basic Workplace Safety Certificate. Tuition: $195/165 Member; $245 Nonmember Introduction to Loss Control, November 20, 2003, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Review loss control topics and learn the fundamentals of recognizing, evaluation and controlling those situations that initiate unintentional and unplanned losses. Part of the Basic Workplace Safety Certificate. Tuition: $195/165 Member; $245 Nonmember Safety Management Techniques, November 18, 25, December 2, 16, 2003 (four Tuesdays) December 8–11, 2003, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This course is for you if you have a good background in accident prevention and you want to improve your management skills. Part of the Advanced Safety Certificate. Tuition: $1275 Member; $1400 Nonmember Safety Management for Supervisors, December 11–12, 2003, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Learn hazard types, analysis and control, safety inspections, accident response and investigation and OSHA compliance. Also covers how to apply safety management and how to influence employee behavior. You will receive the Supervisor Safety Certificate upon completion. Tuition: $375/355 Member; $415 Nonmember Safety Training Methods, November 3–6, 2003, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Covers adult teaching techniques, training course development, effective use of teaching aids, basics of speaking and more. Part of the Advanced Safety Certificate. Tuition: $1275 Member; $1400 Nonmember Transporting Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods, November 4-5, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. There's still time to register.
