Plan Ahead for Drive Safely Work Week, October 6-10, 2003
Safe driving is everyone's business - do your part. Be in good company with NETS and join forces with thousands of public and private sector employers across the country to do your part in promoting safe driving practices. By taking an active role in the Drive Safely Work Week 2003 campaign, October 6-10, an organization demonstrates its commitment to improving the safety and health of their employees by emphasizing the importance of driving safely both on and off the job.

This year's campaign focuses on the positive actions that each driver can take to ensure their safety and the safety of others sharing the road as they drive for work or commute to and from work. Webcast Training to Premier in October!
We will be offering our first two 90 minute web-based seminars in October & November. Watch for details!
  • Sleepiness....The Hidden Impairment, October 21, 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. If you operate heavy equipment or drive a vehicle during your shift work, you must pay careful attention to signs of sleepiness and fatigue. Being sleepy is dangerous. Sleepiness slows reaction time, decreases awareness, and impairs judgment, just like drugs or alcohol. And, just like drugs and alcohol, sleepiness can contribute to unintentional injury or collision.

Recently the U.S. Department of Transportation agreed to issue a series of truck safety rules within the next 18 months. Primary rule changes govern driver fatigue and required rest periods, hours-of-service and other fatigue-related issues.

  • Say What? Exploring OSHA's Final Rule on Recording Hearing Loss, November 13, 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. This session will present historical background and a practical explanation of the final rule on recording hearing loss. Elements of the Noise Exposure Standard (1910.95) as they relate to recordkeeping will be summarized. Also included will be a brief explanation of how to record ergonomic-related conditions.
