Joint Meeting: Legionellosis and You: Everything You Wanted to Know About Bacteria and Water Quality

Waterborne infections causing Legionellosis is increasing in the USA. ASHRAE has initiated a Standard that will help to control legionella a water bacteria in building water systems. Recently Minnesota has had an outbreak in due to contamination of a cooling tower unit.

Length: Two Hours

This presentation will review legionella problems found in water systems and what measures can be taken to prevent infection in susceptible human populations. There are several common water bacteria that can affect humans. These bacterial will be reviewed along with best practice mitigation processes common to sources of legionella and water bacteria infections.
