Faculty

Matthew Stein, MS, CIH
Consultant
Matt is president of Stein Safety and Health Services, LLC. He is a certified industrial hygienist with more than 15 years experience in a variety of settings, including government and private sector consulting. He spent approximately ten years working for OSHA. For approximately half of his time working for OSHA he worked as a contractor to their National Office, and was a compliance safety and health officer (CSHO) for the other half. While working as a contractor to National Office, Matt wrote several guidance documents and software packages that were distributed to the public on OSHA’s website. He also conducted more than 250 inspections as a CSHO. In both training and consulting, the stress is that compliance is not the end goal, but when implemented correctly safety and health adds value and minimizes risks to businesses and lives. He earned a Master of Science degree in industrial hygiene from the University of Iowa and is working on a Ph.D. on the same topic at the University of Minnesota.
