Bike Safety Tips Always wear your bike helmet. If you hit your head in a fall, the injury could make it hard for you to talk or walk. Check your brakes before you head out to ride. Obey all traffic signs and signals. Ride in single file in the same direction as traffic, not against it. Stay as far right on the pavement as you can. Signal your turns. Yield to cars and people on foot. Don't ride through busy intersections or on streets with heavy traffic. Find another way to go. Walk your bike across busy intersections and left turn corners. Don't spin your wheels. Try our bicycle word find game. This page is in portable document format (PDF). You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to open it (and for the answers too).
